I did learn at least one practical thing from Jamie: her talk about goal-setting (include WHY) I think works better for me than Nappie’s talk about goal writing (include HOW MUCH—I found it hard to look at that, when I was trying to go from 0 to X, whatever I define X as it’s hard to believe for me, but I can certainly think of Reasons Why, and things I have to do before money starts to come in, like networking).

But the most obvious thing from Jamie’s book is a sort of gratitude (dangerously close to pity 😸), because as much as I try to support women’s words, and cultivate my feminine side—thus am I GOOSECAP—I am very grateful that I am physically masculine, and thus less likely to be judged based on my physical appearance (even though a combination of superficial people and lack of physical intelligence makes it possible for even a male like me to be judged 😸)—although, I would imagine, despite not knowing about the analytical aspect of beauty, that starting a successful cosmetics company has allowed Jamie to facilitate women getting through life without being judged poorly on how they look.

And supporting Jamie’s words has made this Tom cat feel better about deciding today (as I write this, not when I post the finished review) to start going to an Underearners Anonymous meeting that is a men’s meeting, since several technical aspects of the meeting are convenient for me. Including girls would have been a plus for me, but at least this way every participant is (from a gender perspective at least) a potential sponsor.

But certainly girlie’s success in business is important as well! 😗

…. (Stephen R. Covey voice) At first, super JJ viewed men as being weak and lazy alcoholics because of her father, but later, she and her female friend were able to psychologically admire a male squirrel with large testicles, because of the strength and agency they perceived his balls as providing. Hear me out. We do not need as a society Or as individuals to fear men’s strength and agency, but can instead admire the strength and agency men’s testicles provide. Admire the male squirrel and his balls—or don’t. Nobody’s forcing you.

😹🙀😿

…. I mean, it’s mostly not about the squirrel; I don’t want to frighten you.

I would actually say that given her reported workaholic tendencies, (and despite the fact that I’m still only learning), I’m simultaneously feeling like congratulating her for her work ethic, and feeling like it can be a little scary the lengths that the (mostly, at least) non-alternative/consciousness community will go to for success, which can have the effect of making it less accessible. I mean, part of the reason I became so bad with earning money is the whole workaholic-like-my-father fear I had. I’m certainly not saying that work isn’t necessary to manifest, because it is. And, as much as it’s good for people to help each other, people who are more productive do deserve compensation. It’s just borderline scary when they feel like their productivity is mostly, or even only, a function of the pain they put themselves through. Like the intellectual who thinks that their expertise is mostly or only a function of their alienation, in whatever way.

BUT, at least girlie did do something magical with her life, right! Girlie knew that she could do it!

….

I have to admit that I can find the mundane infuriating, you know, when you can’t think. Sometimes I do get in a groove, though, and it’s good.

Anyway, although I try not to to the radio, and despite not being thrilled whenever I encounter anti-Christian screeds, (books I deleted lol), and although, despite not knowing what it’s like to be in a woman’s body, I can certainly imagine the beauty industry not treating its customers the right way—so many taboos! So much unexpressed emotion!—…. I mean, I once in the room with this guy—I realize, reader, that you weren’t there—who basically, you know, put on his Great Logic Statements of the Wisdom Tradition, and said, Love isn’t loving.

So profound. So false. 😸

I mean, I’m just trying to say that, although Jaime I think doesn’t explicitly go there herself, that you should be compensated for what you do, not “how smart you are” (at…. Homer and the Greeks!), you know. A sorta IQ or philosophy subsidy would make the system even more elitist than it is already. I’m not saying that the system doesn’t need reform, or even that non-monetary rewards don’t matter…. But you’re supposed to get paid on the value you add, not how smart you are…. And form made manifest involves duality, you know. Meditating on the un-manifest in itself doesn’t necessarily lead to a victorious life, and even if it does, it’s rather distinct from prosperity…. Manifestation is duality, and it’s not a matter of not being schooled enough, not cool enough, or too feminine to be transcendent. Despite all the problems, in the world, there is money, and beauty.

…. But remember, on your path of incredible wealth, that the aliens are real, and they love us. They want us to ascend! 👽 💕

I’m sorry; I just wanted to ruin it for you. 😸 Gotta interdict the…. Whatever it is.

There was some personal development/identity work, though. It’s ok.

…. Of course, we all have our own particular viewpoint, and as much as girlie might value my POV—‘it’s not just the philosophers who are good enough; you’re good enough too’—clearly a lot of the angst in intragroup and not just intergroup, you know; or intra-gender, at least; I won’t try to describe it…. And you know, as much as I roll my eyes at the crazy 8s out there, sometimes I do get angry too, fear rebels, the unconsciousness rebels, and I worry that the white girls are leading me (Knights of the Old Republic cinematic) “down an all-too-familiar road”…. (I’m sorry, I just had to ruin it for you). But I tend to delete those things you know, since we do make mistakes when fear rebels, when the unconscious rebels…. And you know, some people are just crazy 8s—they’re worried that their reason for feeling like shit will be taken away from them, you know. And then there are some crazy 3s, too—“But we’ve always sent two tributes from this district to the Hunger Games….”. And if we call a town meeting to discuss turning the Hunger Games into a singing competition, the crazy 8s will show up and call us terrorists for having a singing competition, whereas if we keep the Hunger Games going, they’ll buy lots of ice cream and eat it watching in front of the TV, since we didn’t challenge their despair….

Which isn’t to say that it isn’t easier for me to say, you know….

But, you know. “Etch this marvelous review upon the face of the galaxy.”

…. Whoops, more! 😸

I mean, she’s right about a lot of things:

Re: a man got a promotion
—Did you hear? He got a promotion!

Re: his wife got a promotion too
—Oh, did you hear. She…. has a new position.
—At a new company?
—No, just a…. A better position, you know. But she certainly didn’t make anybody else feel bad! 🙊

And there is a double standard, although it’s slightly more subtle than she implies. Ie, men = brag, women = don’t brag. They have a family resemblance sometimes, but they are distinct.

For men:
—(points) Now, you exist, so you suck; those are the rules. (waves) But don’t worry; you’re a man, you don’t have to follow the rules! (sotto voce) But if you want, you can hate yourself, and then you’ll be like, the best—Better Than Anyone, because you’ll be a man, AND you’ll follow ‘the rules’—the rules of misery in life! (leaving) Remember: as long as you hate yourself!
—(#1) Yo, me and my bros say, Fuck you.
—(#2) (looks at sky) I’ll be famous.

For women, simpler:
—(upset) You’re a woman. FOLLOW THE RULES. (crying) Follow the rules and hate yourself!
—No! No—ow! St—Stop! Oh, all right! I hate myself! But I hate you too missy! I hate people in general, except for some men!

…. The purpose of life is to make people feel good.
—I’m a discoverer. I’ve discovered 814 reasons to feel dead inside. Maybe one of those is the reason for life.
—The purpose of life is to make people FEEL Good!!

…. Simply to believe that you belong, that there is belonging.
