Cold Case is a good middle grades mystery about 13 year old Oz whose brother has been charged with killing the man who wrote a newspaper article about their father accusing him of being a traitor and selling nuclear secrets to other countries. While Oz's mother is away helping her own mother who has had a stroke, it is left to Oz to figure out who killed the newspaper reporter and how his death connects to the accusations involving his father. Oz enlists the help of his best friend, Rusty, who is a fan of forensic cop television shows. She brings her interest in forensics to the case as they begin to investigate other suspects who might have had reason to kill the reporter. Overall this was a pretty good mystery that had enough twists and turns to keep me guessing right up until the end.… (más)

Cold Case starts out with a bang when the main character, Oz, finds a dead body in his family's restaurant. The first half of the book kept my interest with plot twists and good pacing but then things kind of fell apart. The ending felt rushed and I was surprised when Oz's brother is betrayed by someone close to him and that relationship isn't explored more thoroughly. I don't want to reveal too much but when this plot twist is revealed I was stunned because it was a shocker but wasn't touched upon much after it is discovered. Cold Case isn't a bad read it just didn't have enough suspense or character growth for my taste.… (más)

This is a very good book there is a murder at a resturant and a kid named Oz finds the dead body. Oz's big brother is blamed for the murder when he didn;t do it. Then Oz goes to a lawyer and he meets someone who is running for senate there and the future senate gives Oz a ride home. Oz and his friend Rusty are tring to solve the crime and then Rusty and Oz get into a fight and then the Senate says that they found the murderer and he rode with him to the seen and it was a set up then the senate points aa gun to Oz's head but Oz gets away. Then Razor is someone who works at the restaunt tells Oz he did it and then the cops come floodong in the resturant.

This was a very very good book because first you want to find out what happens and you don't excpect it at all. This was a very entertaing book just the suspence. I really liked this book and I want to read more books by this author
