Robert E. A. Lee (1921–2009)

NCLA Review -Robert E. A. Lee has had a long, varied and distinguished career as a Lutheran communicator. He was nominated for an Academy Award in 1966 for his work on the documentary film A Time for Burning. My Wings At Sunset is the author’s memoir of a rich life spanning 86 years including forty years working for the Lutheran Church on the national level in a variety of capacities as a communicator and media expert. Bob Lee has indeed had an interesting, full and colorful life as a Navy pilot during World War II, a musician, a broadcaster, a filmmaker/producer, an author/poet. In addition to sharing his experiences as a Lutheran communicator, he shares with us many details of his family life as a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. Interspersed with his well-written account are many personal photographs and examples of his inspirational poetry.
