“Music played a vital role in Luther’s life—and he in turn had a deep and lasting effect on Christian hymnody. In Luther’s Liturgical Music, Robin Leaver comprehensively explores these connections.” This is the “most extensivestudy on Luther and music ever published.” It can be found on the library shelves under the number 781.71/LEA.

This was a wonderful resource in its day, and very forward looking in its tabulation of 25 Hymn / Worship Song books. Sadly since the demise of the ASB, and particularly the ASB Lectionary --which I still look back to with some nostalgia-- it has become a white elephant. Much loved and used in its time though!
