Enjoyable

A well written book about Katherine Howard the fifth wife of Henry the eighth. A refreshing point of view as the author doesn't portray Katherine as dimwitted and senseless as every other book I have read about her. This is Book 1 of a 2 Book Series. A must read for all Tudor lovers! Brava!

This is Book 2 of the story of Queen Catherine Howard. Just like the first book it was wonderful. A completely different view of this Queen who is most often portrayed as dimwitted. I really felt connected to Catherine the entire time I was reading these two books and applaud the author for really getting into the mindset of Catherine.

The author's notes are a great read as well. I will definitely read more books by this author.

Not quite my cup of tea

This is a story about Jane Seymour prior to her becoming Queen and married to Henry the VIII. It tells of her childhood and up to her becoming a lady in waiting to Queen Katherine. I did find myself skipping through because there was just too much narrative for me. I prefer dialogue or at least a balance. It was just okay for me and I am not sure I will read the second book when it's released.

A fluent first person account of Elizabeth Tudor's thoughts and emotions during the reign of her half sister Mary. A superb way of understanding the political machinations of the court in Tudor times and why Elizabeth became such a powerful Queen.
