Enjoyed this book tremendously - each chapter centered on a particular theme or neighbor and was filled with the kind of detail that made you feel there and part of the story. Maybe because we have remodeled a home in Mexico over the years, I could identify with her mission to build a home; luckily we did not experience the same obstacles as she did at every turn, but we overcame some of our own. We know and love many local Mexicans in our village but have never gotten quite as close to them as this writer did; yet, there are a few we know quite well and we could identify with the writer in this respect.
