I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
I chose to read this book because I am religious but not what most people would call "pro-life" - I believe abortion should be safe, legal, free, and rare. I do believe firmly in the dignity of life, however, and I have many friends who are pro-life in their politics and their faith. I requested this book out of curiosity to understand more about that perspective.
I would rate this book 2.5 stars. I thought the devotions themselves, which span many different themes related to the dignity of life, were beautifully written and meaningful.
At the same time, it is hard to understand what makes this book distinctly "pro-life," other than the political commentary in the introduction and the description of the development of a fetus in the womb that accompanies each devotion. The descriptions do not relate directly to each devotion, though - they seem thrown in haphazardly.
I would recommend it to anyone who is fond of devotionals.… (más)
