I had downloaded the eBook a long time ago and somehow couldn't get on with reading it. Almost a year ago, I read a few pages and left it there. Now, having finished it, I can say that it is good. That doesn't mean that I agree with the author's views. I enjoyed it as a fast paced action story set in a dystopian world. The end seemed a bit too cinematic though...

Good entry into the series if you are new to it, good additional information if you have been reading it for a while. This is a collection of stories on how not to colonize a planet. Viva la revolucion!

I like Tom Kratman and have read many of his books. However, I just can't get into this one. I strongly dislike the entire war on terror (Islamic Extremism) because it makes me uneasy and in fact, terrifies me. So I just can't get into it.

I am giving it 3 stars because his writing is great! I just can't get into the storyline. I am 65 and grew up with the cold war and hard science fiction (RAH like Starship Troopers). So really dig the ones Tom did with John Ringo on the Posleen hordes (Legacy of the Aldanata).

I do agree with his viewpoint on so much Sci-fi worlds/cultures being too monochromatic. I do like the muddle of both good and evil mixture in both sides. That is realism. (That's why I like Weber - but he goes a bit too far sometimes)
So good luck and happy reading to those who don't have my particular dislike to the fighting the Islamic types.

Carrera's war to free Balboa from the Taurans. His long laid plans are coming to fruition. Most of his enemies are dead. The space fleet has been neutralized. The next step will be Hamilcar's -- to take the war to Earth. Can't wait for the next book.
