i did enjoy Mr. Knopf's Random Recollections, particularly his endorsement of the writings of Joseph Conrad. I had fun reading the spines of books behind him in the drawing from the New Yorker, which can be found a few pages after the title page.

A beautiful centennial volume highlighting the publications of Alfred A. Knopf from its inception through the end of 2015, listing them both chronologically and by author. Charles McGrath's introduction provides excellent background on the firm's origins, its principles, and the very different management styles of the three(!) men who have led the company over its first hundred years.
