This is an exceptionally beautiful collection of lifelike stuffed animals to knit. My favourite is the meadowlark, but I'm also tempted to knit a colony of prairie dogs so alert you expect them to whistle and dive for a hole, and a chimpanzee (my youngest grandson couldn't stop hooting at the photo), and I think I need a large and squishy-soft trout to use as a pillow. And there's so much more. Long-time fans of this accomplished designer need to be aware that although by far the majority of the book is completely new, a few of the patterns-- the river otter and the rat are the ones that come to mind-- are extremely similar to patterns which the designer has sold separately. On the other hand, although she's designed a raccoon before, the one in Wild and Woolly is immeasurably more attractive and lifelike. Sara Kellner is a perfectionist as a designer and when she revisits patterns, they are better for it. Highly recommended book for the delight of knitters and their small friends.… (más)

Never mind the name of the book. I don't knit for cats because they chew up their presents and they never say thank you. This book is full of cute little toys which my grandchildren covet, play food for the toy kitchen, tiny birds, mice and insects, all as charming as can be. Projects from this book kept showing up over and over again in Ravelry pattern searches until I just had to buy it! I've worked a lot of Sara Elizabeth Kellner designs and found her pattern writing to be clear and accurate. I expect to get a lot of use out of this book.… (más)
