The Art of Ramona Quimby: Sixty-Five Years of… por Anna Katz
This made me feel so nostalgic for Beverly Cleary's Ramona books! They were a constant in my childhood reading and my favorite out of all of Cleary's work. I loved learning about the different artists who illustrated Ramona's world and each of their styles that emphasized different aspects of a scene or character. There were so many little things I never noticed, and probably never would have, that were brought to light by Katz. I think if you're a Ramona lover then it would definitely be worth your while to spend some time with this book.… (más)
I grew up mostly on the Louis Darling illustrations so it was a little jarring to see reissues published over the decades with OTHER illustrators' work. But after reading this book and exploring the illustrations in comparative side-by-side, I realized the importance of keeping the books relevant for later generations and it was fascinating to study the illustrators' different styles and interpretations. A must for fans of Beverly Cleary and Ramona, and an instructive resource for artists.
