The first of a cozy mystery series set in 1929 England. At the Robert Barnaby Society weekend, the day before she was due to give a talk Linda Dexter has disappeared. While the police carry out their own investigate Fran Black and Tom Dod join forces to delve into the mystery.
A enjoyed this easy to read well-written story and liked the characters. A really good start and a series which I look forward to reading more of.

Tom Dod's Aunt Hetty has approached him because she is concerned. Apparently there have been three accidently deaths in her home village of Durley Dean and she is worried that they may not have been accidents. So Tom with his sleuthing friend Mrs Frances Black visit her for the weekend.
With the local feuds, especially concerning the church and its new vicar, there does seem to be plenty of motives. Tom and Frances must sift through their interviews to find the guilty party.
A slow paced well-written cozy mystery set in the late 1920's.

1930. When her solicitor learns of a spiteful letter being received concerning her divorce proceedings, Frances Black decides to take the advise of Tom Dod. So she is off to Sunnyside House, Frencombe in Devon to help the Edgerton family. The family's grandafther has died and at the same time a large diamond has gone missing. Was the incident really an accident and where is the diamond.
Although the third in the series it is easily read as a standaolone story.
In this historical mystery series this is another enjoyable well-written easy read with its delightful characters.
