Personal Response:
A fabulous transition from a traditional farm in the Icelandic countryside to a typical neighborhood in Reykjavik. The multi-generational relationship between Gunnjona and her young (elementary school age) neighbor is a delight - we can all learn from one another and find ways to connect.

Curricular or Programming Connections:
Excellent for exploring with middle readers the differences between urban and rural living, multi-generational friendships, and choosing one's lifestyle - being a nature lover within an urban environment.
