Lion I Am

I thought deserved a star removal. Firstly as something of a logophile, I find that I don't approve of the choice of yummy. I understand the choice, as it is a word children are familiar with, but I believe we should be expanding their vocabularies and teaching them preccise grammar
Secondly allow me to get off of my high horse and get onto another one to say, I disagreed with some of the philosophy in the back of the book, so I'm reasonably certain this book will not be staying on my shelves for my niephlings to be able to read.
Other than that I enjoyed the illustrations. They look like they were done by kids, which is really fun.

This book has so many things that appeal to young children. There are easy-to-read words in large text, bright colorful illustrations, and sentences that are repeated over and over to help them remember. Yummy Me Feels So Good features different animals and some of them look like they could have been drawn by children themselves. These animals represent different emotions and the reassurance that it's okay to have these different feelings. They can feel happy, hungry, grumpy, or even mad, and they may even have all of these feelings in one single day!

"Who am I? It's hard to say. There are so many Me's in just one day."

I love a children's book that teaches as it entertains and Yummy Me Feels So Good does both. It is the perfect book for parents and children to read and discuss together.
