A Great Read - how a German U-boat torpedoed a Newfoundland ferry and claimed many innocent lives. Well written and all true ... anybody who is interested in Naval or Canadian history needs to read this one.

The biography of Izaak Walton Killam and his wife Dorothy, who were Canadian philanthropists and made huge bequests and endowments to many Canadian universities and other institutions. Lasting gifts were made to found the Canada Council (for the arts), Dalhousie University, University of British Columbia, the University of Alberta and the University of Calgary, the Killam Hospital for Children in Halifax, and the Montreal Neurological Institute. The bequest were directed to medical, scientific and engineering education and research, and to the arts in Canada. Many Killam Scholarships continue to be awarded annually across Canada, and this biography is presented to those award winning students.… (más)
