Jane Watson Hopping give us Christmas the way we wish it was. The book is full of stories and historical vignettes alongside recipes you will enjoy even before you try them. Adding the poetry of James Whitcomb Riley and many others is over the top. I can't recommend her books enough for those of us who like old fashioned things and Christmas is at the top of the list. This book has substance.

Jane Watson Hopping's books are my favorite read along cookbooks, delightful to sit and soak up the love. Chock full of inspriring anecdotes and family stories, real home cooking recipes, and charming illustrations, one of the treasures I found was the poetry of James Whitcomb Riley, Edgar Guest, and others You are going to wish you grew up in the country when you read this book.
