Roy Hoffman is author of the novels Come Landfall, Chicken Dreaming Corn, praised by Harper Lee as "a story of great appeal," and Almost Family, winner of the Lillian Smith Award, as well as the essay collection Back Home: Journeys through Mobile. Residing in Fairhope, Alabama Hoffman Contributes mostrar más frequently to the New York Times and was a long-time staff writer for the Mobile Press-Register, receiving the 2008 Clarence Cason Award form the University of Alabama's College of Communication and Information Sciences. Chicken Dreaming Corn por Roy Hoffman
This is The Great American Novel. The characters are vivid and varied, and they tell the story of the development of American culture.
An interesting glimpse into 25+ years of a Southern family and the black "mammy" who worked for them and the Jewish matriarch of the family. I can't say that the story didn't make me uncomfortable at times because it did. I absolutely hated the way it ended in such a harsh and unsatisfying way.
