Impromptu is a book about GPT-4 written with the help of GPT-4. It focuses on the practical use of the model and is written with a fairly positive attitude.

Among the various chapters, I found the one on education and the one on creativity the most interesting ones. Especially creativity is not something people usually associate with AI.

The usage of prompted replies from GPT-4 was a cool feature, but I feel like the author overused it. A lot of the replies were boring and could have been skipped.

Overall, it has been an insightful read, and I learned some new things. I can only recommend it.

Masters of scale includes some excellent stories and actionable insights from numerous well known people (predominantly technology related) who have achieved phenomenal scale. This is a useful book to help evolve the way you think. It does however read at times like a sales brochure for Reid's Blitzscaling book. 4.25/5

The book felt like a giant advertisement for LinkedIn, but there were useful nuggets as well.

I guess my biggest takeaway is that I need to get out and make valuable connections, and there were some good pointers on how to do that effectively.

Good ideas in this book, but somewhat weakened by the inability for anyone in middle/lower management to enact the good ideas presented.

If I was starting a company or worked in a small company that was open to changing how people are treated/managed, I'd highly recommend this book.

Working at a large company where the policies are already in place and change is not likely, this book may prove to be more frustrating than helpful. Not that the ideas can't scale, it is just too many people are entrenched in the status quo and won't consider making some of the changes recommended in the book.… (más)
