Murder in Hollywood by Charles Higham is one of the best books written about the murder of William Desmond Taylor. It puts forth the most likely explanation of who and how the murder occurred. I found it also gave a fascinating glimpse into Hollywood of silent film era.

he never seemed to pay income tax.
