How can a person go wrong by reading this box set of almost 1100 pages of Good vs. evil? Dr. Tara Lee discovered the Vita virus in Africa. but an unsupportive boss in the states doesn't give her the assets in an attempt to stop it there. As a result, she and Saul (bodyguard) barely escaped with their lives. It doesn't take long for the virus to show up in the United States and elsewhere in the world.

The story follows different characters from the onset of the zombie apocalypse to safety where it is hoped that life can return to the way it was. En route, Dylan is bit and has 72 hrs. before turning into the undead. She heads to Ft. Knox, KY where it is rumored that a cure exists. This is where Dr. Lee is working on the antidote. Who will be her first victim? All the parties also discover that the living tends to be more dangerous than the zombies.

The characters are well defined and carry the story forward through various POVs. People die - some, readers will be happy about them and others dying will cause grieving. The tale kept me engaged and cheering for the survivors. Will they find a cure? Is running from zombie hordes going to be their life going forward? It's tens of thousands against a handful of hopeful living humans - who wins? Read the story to find out.

What can I say... never had one novella and 6 books passed by this fast, haha around 4 days and it is finished, you have here a really good story, if you like walking dead! Really, this IS your jam, I mean, you have the action, the points of view, the relax time, you really get to know the characters by their view of points, you get to love some of the characters and hate others, and some you start by loving and then you couldn’t care less if they stay or go, like in everything else in live.

The best part for me, and I know that some may not like as much is the going back to the same situation by another set of eyes, sometimes a character will say what happened and later other will go back and tell us the other part of the same situation, what went differently (like I said, another set of eyes), and this makes us fell like part of the action. 😉

The novella started in congo, it explained to us the start of the zombie outbreak, and the communication between Doctor Tara lee and his boss, and we start there dreading what comes our way, I loved from the beginning Doctor Tara I guess I imagined her like a bit more modest but as gorgeous “Ada Wong” from resident evil 2, and Saul well I pictured him as a “Idris Elba” with British accent, I mean, who doesn’t like an accent?. And this book is really necessary to understand what is going on the rest of the series, and even to get to know these characters, but their grow will keep on going!! I really loved it all (laughs like a mad woman).

I really love Dylan snarky humour, and loved to see her grown on the series, what can I say? When a character I like is happy, I am happy. One thing I really loved in this series, was that sometimes we had the background for a zombie, in italic, saying who he/she was and what he/she had done in life, how it was now for him/her, and an explanation of how got there or what was supposed to happen next, and this was really refreshing and at the same time, really sad, at least for me, the first time it happen I was like, eh, what is this? Who is this character?! and then all explained itself, like I said gives another deepness to the story telling.

Without spoilers, and for everyone that loves post-apocalyptical stories like me, it seems the worse part of the end of the world it will always be people, zombies, they’re not people and at the best of times we can say that they’re closer to animals, because they want to feed and that’s it, but the motivation for people is always different, ah so much water under that bridge… but again, I love an ending of the world situation and I can’t recommend this series enough, you have it all, action, scares, love, horror, some parts will flew by you, others will linger, but in the end you will feel sad because it is over, and we don’t want the characters we love to leave us.

A post-apocalyptic, sci-fi, time travel, thriller, all in one book of 182 pages! I'm sure this was written for the YA crowd. Rogue, an 18 year old who was not "shifted" into an alternate universe (as her parents were) now finds herself in a land ruled by dinosaurs.
