Wishes on Mistletoe Mountain (Flurries of Christmas Hope Book 1) by Dora Hiers
Book starts out with table of contents, dedication page, praise from reviews and verse from the Bible.
Chase now runs Wishes and his chef is having a baby at the hospital. He had posted an ad for a replacement but no luck so far.
He notices lights on the next door neighbors house, one e has a key for and he goes to check it out. He finds that Camille has come home after she had nailed him in the head with a pan.
They come to an agreement where she will cook for Wishes and he will help fix up her house and help her pack. She's trying to make a decision as to what to do with the rest of her life.
Antonio has asked her to marry him but she's not so sure that's what God wants her to do. She and Chase spend a lot of time together, memories of what they were to one another over the years and how her father sent her away right after graduation. She did get a career in baking and she has no problem fitting it at the center.
Love all the romantic places they visit when they were growing up and now that they are adults. Sounds like a beautiful area.
She knows after a kiss from him what she needs to do and heads back overseas to talk to Antonio.
She and Catherine-the ex chef have worked together and kept Chase in the dark about some things...
Like how God has a plan for each of them and they pray often to him for guidance.
Love the descriptions, I can just picture this all in my mind. Sounds like a wonderful series.
Excerpt from Christmas on Mistletoe Mountain is included at the end.

Sydney has her hands full, caring for her disabled father and volunteering at Grace Nest, a home for pregnant teenagers. While she dreams of romance, Sydney doesn't think she'll ever get to have it—not even with Kane, a kind and supportive man she's known all her life. She fears he'll find out about a terrible past mistake that still haunts her in Christmas on Mistletoe Mountain, a romance by author Dora Hiers.

In this holiday novella, the first book in a (coming?) series, both the hero and heroine are struggling with accepting grace for their lives, past and present. It's a story that goes to some sorrowful places, but it also has its share of holiday warmth, and I'd say the romance is on the steamier side of ChristFic. The storytelling can feel rather melodramatic or oversweet at times, and some little parts are rushed here and there, but it's a fitting read for a sitting or two.

All in all, a short, sweet, Christmassy, and redemptive tale.

"love2readnovels" shares her book review below and I couldn't have written it better, so I am placing it here in case you missed it: "Emily Mannerson had a miserable childhood and couldn't wait to get out of Journey Creek where everyone knew her background. But that meant leaving Matthew Westerly behind. She's now a busy attorney but returns home to Journey Creek to care for Sophie, her adopted mom. When Emily is involved in a car accident, it's Fire captain Matthew Westerly who comes to her rescue. They were high-school sweethearts until Emily left. Now that she's returned, Matthew is determined to win her back. Everyone has things they treasure. Will Matthew and Emily trust the Lord enough to let Him show them the treasure He has for them?"

Although this short story can be read very quickly, it was a complete story. It starts out with a car crash and doesn't slow down until the story is finished. A story about second chances at love; a story of how the big city girl and the small town boy can find true happiness if they truly love each other. This story takes place in Journey Creek, which will be familiar to those who read the Journey Creek series by this author. This is a stand alone story, but the town is where a lot of action takes place in the Journey Creek series. It really can be read quickly, but there is great satisfaction in watching Emily and Matthew find their 'small town treasure'.

Description of this story taken from Amazon: "After an injury forces Deputy U.S. Marshal Sage Michaelson off duty, he heads to his hometown with two things on his mind: recuperating and reevaluating, but Sage can't refuse his best friend's plea to keep a protective eye on his little sister after someone ransacks her house. But Delaney's not so little anymore-and definitely not the young "Dane" Sage remembers. Flight Medic Delaney Hunt has loved Sage forever. But, he's all about control and order while she embraces life and takes risks. As much as the idea appeals to her, she doesn't need Sage looking over her shoulder. But when things go wrong . . . who does she call to rescue her? Will Delaney ever be the woman Sage wants by his side? Can Sage learn to live by grace, recognizing that God is in control?"

I really liked the concept of this story, where they knew each other in the past and now that Delaney has 'grown up', Sage sees her in a whole different light. These two people were fun to get to know and I enjoyed their interaction and the way their attraction for each other progressed. I also thought the author did a great job of keeping the suspense level going and making you wonder who was behind these attacks on Delaney. Keep me guessing. This was a great series and I highly recommend them. You could easily read each story as a stand alone, although you do read about characters from previous stories, so if you want to fully understand those other characters, it is always best to read them in the order they were written. Your trip to Journey Creek is well worth the visit!
