The theory of wages por John Hicks
Nobel Prize winner, first edition. Own it but haven't yet read it.
This volume contains some extremely important essays by the great eclectic economist, Sir John Hicks. I may disagree with "Is Interest a Price of a Factor of Production?" but I've got to admit, his point fascinates . . . and he begins with a hilarious anecdote about the Baptists of his day!
Part V, a series of reviews of previous economic masters (some almost obscure) is worth the price of the book. And in the final section, his essay "A Discipline Not a Science" is must reading for all who are interested in the philosophical foundations of social science.… (más)
