This book is a must-read for history lovers. It gives in-depth sketches of different people of faith who where involved in the American Revolution. It is not written like a modern-day history book, with only facts and dates. Nor is it written like a historical fiction novel - with interesting, but untrue story. Rather it tells compelling, interesting, surprising, captivating stories from the Revolution.

An interesting historical overview of Union Admirals in the civil war. The descriptions of their duties and battles are very detailed and interesting particalarly as this was written on 1891.

There's also material on long-forgotten incidents, like the Doctor's Riot and the Astor Place Riot, both of which were profiled in American Heritage years ago. If you love New York City history, this is probably a book you should have.… (más)

There were three variants of this book. 105 pages without a frontispiece; 105 pages with frontispiece, and 160 pages with frontispiece. Taylor basically pirated material from Headleys The Adirondack. His printing of these books was not authorized. This collection has the second and third variant. (both with frontispiece)
