Jean Haus

The writing is technically rough and is truly cringe-worthy in some places (jiggling spelled as giggling, omg whut?), but the story itself is involving (lady drummer ftw)and entertaining, so I'm not going to knock it down to two-stars even though I was itching for a red pen. I'm not really happy with the way the story ends for the lady-protagonist though because when faced with the choice between playing drums or a boyfriend, she picks the boyfriend. I hate when it's the girl always sacrificing for the sake of the relationship. And in this case, the decision to stop playing is abrupt and comes after a whole lot of talk about how playing is the only thing that really makes her happy.. It's more than fluffy nonsense but not so heavy you want to cry. Definitely readable, if you can get past the grammar carnage.… (más)

I did appreciate that the author didn't drag out the obligatory BIG SECRET forever and ever, but there wasn't much to set it apart from the mahjillions of other angsty rock-star New Adult titles currently flooding the market. If you like that particular type of story, this one won't make you want to slit your wrists.… (más)
