I was not sure what to expect when I started reading this book as Amanda Hamm is a new author to me. I was pleased to discover that the beginning reminded me a bit of the play Love Letters by A. R. Gurney in that it uses correspondence between the two main characters as a way of helping the reader get to know them. However, there is far more in this book than just letters. We get to see both Katie and Cameron in home, work, and social situations.

It does not come as a surprise that the Cameron who responds to her profile through a Catholic dating service is the same Cameron she is acquainted with at work. However, she is not 100% sure, and he has no idea that she is the same person he knows in the office. As she does not want him to feel deceived, Katie tries to decide how to tell him once she realizes that it is the same person.

Some of the story is a bit predictable, but it is well told. The author uses a different type font to distinguish their written correspondence from the rest of the book. It is easy to read and I admit to being somewhat intrigued as to how the story would reach the anticipated conclusion. This is part of a series but can be read without reading any of the author’s previous Romance Arts Books.

I received my copy of this book through the Early Reviewers program at LibraryThing. No promise was made of a positive review and any opinions expressed here are my own.

Book appears to be self published based on mixed cover fonts. Writing is amateurish and clunky. Many sentences are not even sentences - just a few words. This makes for difficult reading. A novel should flow effortlessly rather than stop and start like a jerky car! This made it difficult to read or to even get into the story. The story itself is rambling and loaded with pointless detail. Maybe younger women might enjoy it. I admit I like a more traditional writing style as I have been reading novels for almost sixty years. Younger women may not be attached to earlier writing styles. My review is strictly my opinion based on what I consider to be desirable features in a novel.… (más)

Initially the book tricked me - I was interested in reading stories from Hartford because I am orginally from Hartford, CT. Needless to say, that is not where the book takes place, but it was still an adorable, heartwarming story of family and love over generations.
