Cazzo

Not very good. I thought it would be more language based or more about the authors experience and discovery of Italian culture, but in reality it was a bunch of textbook chapters on different aspects of Italian culture that have nothing to do with each other.

I was pleasantly surprised by this book, really a collection of vignettes about Italians, all things Italian and a history of Italy. People, events, accomplishments, it's all there and leaves you wanting more. I thought that some of these profiles were a bit of a stretch when the author was trying to demonstrate La Passione, but not many and not too far. I bought and read it as part of my family history research, and there were points where I wanted to grab a flight and go...now. A fun read, maybe could have included a bit more about Southern Italy - always a difficult topic, but nonetheless. Or maybe Cremona and its violins - that is true passion. Maybe in a "La Passione II"?… (más)
