This is a very good book. It shows children a different view on animals and just what people can do with them. Goodall found a love for chimpanzees and discovered many amazing things about them. I think this book is good for advanced readers in your classroom who appreciate animals. I enjoyed reading it and would suggest others to read it if they love animals. This biography is the story of how a young girl from England dreamed of going to Africe. Eventually, as a young women her dream was realized. Soon after her arrival in Africa, she began her life-long study of chimpanzees. This book covers her observations, her works and her life with these fascinating animals.

As an extension, there are a lot of good movies and documentaries on chimpanzees that children could watch. Also, children could learn about other animals from Africa and the people that study them.
