This is a composer who truly benefits from the insightful and entertaining explications of Professor Greenberg. Stravinsky's life was extraordinary and long-lived, but Greenberg shows the threads that run through his music from his early triumphs such as the Firebird and the Rite of Spring to his late works. Along the way, I was introduced to works such as his Piano Concerto, Piano Sonata, Concerto for Piano and Wind Instruments, and so many more that I can't wait to listen to in full. Highly highly recommended.… (más)

Wow. What an experience this has been! Robert is a tour-de-force and his passion and infectious enthusiasm make the topic very interesting and extremely accessible. I am going to scour through his other lectures. Fantastic. I really enjoyed this.

I much preferred the earlier episodes as I'm not a fan of classical music written in the 20th century. Loved hearing Handel, Mozart, and Beethoven's stories. Will listen to more of Greenberg. He is entertaining and passionate and informative.

An incredible sprint through the tragic life of one of the greatest composers this world has ever seen. Professor Greenberg is engaging and witty and expertly cuts in clips of Mahler's work to reinforce the historical and analytical breakdowns of key pieces. I learned a lot in this lecture series and really look forward to listening to more Great Courses and specifically, Great Masters courses.
