Super cute and a great message for kids! Somedays we'll feel down and/or grumpy, but we can cheer ourselves up with the things we like or acknowledge our negative feelings. Also, some magical girl fun too!

Rosa Parks & Claudette Colvin: Civil Rights Heroes… por Tracey Baptiste

A nice, straightforward dramatization of the events leading up to the Montgomery Bus Boycott that gives credit to Claudette Colvin for blazing the trail that Rosa Parks would follow in the fight against segregation and racism. It also touches on the sexism that was present in the Civil Rights Movement, with Colvin being judged and deemed unsuitable for a test case and even Parks getting sidelined as male leadership took the spotlight.

This is a good introduction for children, though I suppose the ones in Florida may find it unavailable in their school libraries thanks to the censorship efforts of Governor Ron DeSantis.… (más)
