Rickson Gracie

This audiobook was a joy to listen to over and over. I could imagine Rickson's adventurous childhood, growing up in Brazil, his unique family dynamics, and curious teens. The way he embraced his calling as the champion for his family was truly astonishing. Rickson went all-out and gave 100% to be the best Jiu-Jitsu fighter, in the ring, on the street, or in the gym, and he taught everything he learned to his students, giving each of them the tools to develop and be their best.
Rickson was totally open about his mistakes, failures, losses, and the tragedies that humbled him. He gave credit to all the people who shaped his views, supported, taught and mentored him, and he never sounded haughty about his accomplishments.
Often, when we learn a new thing, we put that knowledge on a mental shelf to use, "someday." Rickson seemed to make a habit of putting all his bits of newly-found knowledge and understanding to work, right away - thus proving and proofing it. And if it works - building upon it...SMILE!!!… (más)
