Kylie is the only investigator in the small town of Hagen. She knows something is terribly wrong in her town when two high school seniors have died under weird circumstances and a third pulls a terrible stunt that nearly kills everyone in a diner. But, none of the higher ups in her town believe her. Kylie is not to be deterred. She digs in her heels and becomes unstoppable.

This is book three in the series. I have not read the others and I did not miss a beat. It can definitely be a stand alone book. Kylie is a sharp character. She is smart and a bit insensitive which is appealing in many ways. But, she cares and this comes out in how she does her job. She is like a dog with a bone in this book. Nothing is going to stop her from finding out who is behind these horrible stunts.

This story is full of intensity and mystery. I enjoy a book which has me on a few wild goose chases. And this one threw me off the scent. This just made me read faster and faster 😂! I had to know who did what!!

Far Gone (Badlands Thriller Book 2) por Danielle Girard

Far Gone is the second book in this series. I highly recommend you read the first book before this one. If you don't, it will be tough to follow the storyline. In book two, we learn more about Detective Kylie Milliard's background, which explains why she lives and works in Hagen, N.D.—a small town with little appeal. The plot is relatively complicated, with many relationships overlapping—hidden in plain sight—yet it's very suspenseful and pulled me in immediately. The author brings in a lot of surprise twists and somehow binds everything together in the end. Overall, I think this second book was better than the first.… (más)

White Out: A Thriller (Badlands Thriller) por Danielle Girard

White Out is a suspenseful thriller set in the small town of Hagen, North Dakota. The plot involves several murders, an old kidnapping case, and several characters suffering from amnesia, making the book's first half rather frustrating. The protagonist, Detective Kylie Milliard, is likable, but the author has yet to share much of her personal story. The plot is all over the place, and even though the author did tie most of it up in the end, I still was left with more than a few questions.

The Ex is a short novella that gives the readers of this series some background regarding Dr. Annabelle Schwartzman's short-lived freedom from her abusive husband, Spencer MacDonald, and the heartbreak she suffered after her miscarriage. These events in Anna's life are revisited as flashbacks while the doctor investigates the death of a young pregnant woman, whom she suspects was murdered by her boyfriend.
