Like so many books, half a good book and half not. This could have been an excellent book if the author had been willing to just make it a book with the following theses:
1. Some children have more trouble in social situations than others.
2. We can help them by teaching them the rules of those social situations.
3. Here are some exercises you can do with your children.
Instead she tries to explain how all children with ADHD & learning disabilities (which she capitalizes constantly) are the same. Oh well. But she presents the rules of social situations pretty well, and the exercises don't seem half bad either. I guess for photocopying purposes the whole book is in extra large type, which I found annoying.
If you're looking for a book that provides the rules to social situations so you can help your unusual child learn them, this might be a great aid for you.… (más)
