A well done book - each historic restaurant is profiled and information is provided such as the address, what is in it's place now, the years it was in operation, and even the phone number. Photographs are provided of the restaurant as well as photos of guests and in some cases, menus. Also provided with each listing are 2-3 recipes of the restaurant's most well known dishes. I liked the book from the historic perspective but wished a sample menu had been provided for each listing. Additionally, I found two major errors, one on page 59 for the listing for The Brown Derby where they talked about guests "Jack Berry and Mary Livingston" when it was Jack Benny!!!!! And on Page 161 when talking about Guy Mitchell's hit song about "Pittsburg, Pennsylvania" when the actual title is "There's a Pawnshop on a Corner in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania".… (más)
