This is a really good translation and telling of the early Irish myths and sagas. I’ve always enjoyed the Celtic myths, and I highly recommend this as a read!
While definitely interesting, this was light on the supporting material, and made heavy going for someone new to the subject.
This is a fun collection of Irish pagan Celtic tales translated from the original. Readers unfamiliar with this type of material will probably be struck by the lack of care for modern narrative rules. Those who have read similar tales elsewhere will be familiar with the differing conventions, such as lengthy genealogies, lists and descriptions of warriors and supernatural and magical encounters. There's a nice Introduction to All Things Pagan Celtic and brief individual introductions for each story.… (más)
