I copied this story out of a book, the title of which I no longer remember.
It was a collection of stories in comic book (graphic novel) format, with excellent illustrations.

The text was that of a song by Jack Gladstone, based on a story of the same name by Frances Fraser.

It could have been a book of all of the stories from his CD "Blackfeet Legends of Glacier National Park," or an anthology of some kind.
