Well organized by habitat and then color, this book is adapted from a well-known wildflower field guide. It includes several excellent activities (like finding seeds in one's sneakers after a muddy walk), and the color drawings are attractive. However, if you want a field guide for a child, then I believe it would be more helpful to purchase an adult version specific to your location. Getting a specific field guide will help keep a child from being frustrated with irrelevant plants, but also keep him from being frustrated at not being able to find the plant he's looking for. It is possible that in other locations, this book would be more helpful. I live in the southwest, and have several times been disappointed with what I couldn't find.… (más)
