I really wanted to live this more. The plausibility of the story was off. I wanted the story fleshed out more because the story had so much potential. I enjoyed the characters but I wanted more.

Strangely familiar
Is it just me, or did I just read another version of Forget Me Not? The story is VERY similar.

This was a tamer Mafia book than what I have been used to reading. But that is very good! Even though there was some deceitfulness involved, truths being twisted, and lies told, there was also romance happening.

So, this book was definitely touch and go for me for a while, I was around 35% in (albeit a lot of skimming) and I was close to DNF'ing.
I don't think as much information needs to be in the first 40%, the author described everything so beautifully, but I feel this also could have been reduced. I found myself skimming these parts.
Despite that, I really enjoyed the plot, it was full of suspense and mystery and was well thought out.

Lori's character was strong and battling a lot of inner demons, it was great to watch her character build throughout the book.
