"For I had to, and I had to have her"
"I'll remind you that you're all mine"

This was a great standalone fantasy romance novel. I finished it in ONE day. I could not put it down. It was not all sunshine and rainbows. The ending did feel a little rushed. This could have been so much longer and it would have been even better. After 200 pages, it's spice all the time and good spice!
The characters were good. I was a bit annoyed with Fia at the end and I felt that she was just being overly dramatic at some points. Colvin was not some good guy throughout all of this. He did what he HAD to do, even though it ruined her life and he wouldn't change a thing and he was selfish and I loved that so much! I LOVED Herb and Spodge! I could have done with more world building and I really thing that this could have been so much longer and still been amazing if not better. It could even been a series. I really wish that I had more. There are shifters, fae, mythical creatures, and dragons!

Tropes:
Arranged marriage
Fated mates
Possessive and aggressive

Ending Type: HEA

Below are my SPOILER thoughts and reactions:

Regin is a piece of shit. I want a narlow! Oh they're fated mates. Fia is being a brat. Her situation isn't all that bad. Olette walking in on them 🤣 ooh his dragon form protects her.
HE WAS ON TOP OF HER NAKED AND STILL DIDN'T DO HER! Omg she's riding a Pegasus! I'm giggling with delight 😊 I really feel like this could have been a series or at least a much larger book.
I love that he stole her because he HAD to have her. 🫠that was worth the wait!🔥 😍🔥 he's been poisoning himself?! She rode his dragon form! Wow. Thanks Jarron for laying all that shit on HOURS before the wedding. Wtf Regin, you ruin EVERYTHING! Well that ending was alot. The epilog felt weird. I didn't like it.

4.5 stars

This author is one that I immediately put her books on my TBR. They don't even have to have a blurb and I will eagerly wait for it to be released. I know that it will be good because this author, from her debut book to her most current one, has NEVER let me down. She is the personification of sublime. I know that there will be angst galore, that she will create characters that feel real, and that the story will jump off the pages as if it was happening before my very eyes.

This story was just another example of how truly talented she is. This is a story that, for all intents and purposes, should have been wrong but instead showed something that was beautiful. It wasn't dirty or cheesy. It was love. It showed that love is imperfect and comes in many different ways. Love makes people crazy for a plethora of reasons and holy crikey did it make for some crazy moments in this story. I hated some of the moments and struggled with a few of the characters and their actions. However, I also still rooted in the characters as they tried to navigate the best way that they could with the cards that they were dealt.

Was this my favorite story from this author? No. There were reasons for this, (I won't spoil anything) but there were a couple of parts I questioned or wanted further exploration on. However, this book still gave me some of the most amazing quotes and moments that should be memorialized in a country song or something because they had me touch my heart and took my breath away at their beauty and the emotions that they evoked. Which is why this author is a one-click author. She makes me feel the power of love and helps me find magic in words on paper.

Sweet Holiest of titfires... This book...

It never seems to matter the sub-genre that this author writes in because if they are her words then I will read them and fall in love. A King so Cold was one of my top books of 2020. So, it should be no surprise that The Stray Prince would follow its predecessor and own my heart. It would be unfair to say, in my opinion, whether this book surpasses the other one because it hit differently than the first book. This one didn't need the world-building that the first one did and, instead, focused on expanding on the amazingness and heights of my imagination. I can say, however, that it definitely met my expectations and exceeded them in a different way than I was expecting.

I found that I was more invested with Audra and Zad in this book than I even was in the first book because I felt like I knew them. They were not just fictional characters. Instead, they were real in my mind and their love story was MY love story which made the angst in this book hit harder. I wanted to scream at them when they were being difficult or when there didn't seem to be a solution out of the situations that they both found themselves in. I didn't have another character like Raiden pulling at my heartstrings and instead, my focus was just on these two. All I wanted was for these two characters to be able to find their happy medium and to give in to their bond.

This road was bumpy. There were a few moments of the book that wondered how, or even if things were going to change. This author didn't make it easy. There are some pretty big twists and turns that were unexpected but also were fantastic because it gave me pause, and made me want to swear my eternal love and devotion to this author because she enthralled me yet again. There was the perfect balance of story and steam. Good Lord, the steam...

There are so many more things that I could say about this book, but either I cannot give anything away because it will ruin the epicness that is this book, or because simply my mere words could not do this book justice. There is a reason that this author is not only a one-click author but also one of my all-time favorites. I highly recommend this book. It is most definitely going in my top books of 2021.

Five Mellifluous Stars

I am cursing the fact that I cannot rank higher than five stars.

This author is always one that as soon as I see she has a book coming that I add it to my TBR. I don't even have to have a blurb or a title. I will add it and then wait on bated breath. This book was one of those that I had no idea what it was but I knew I wanted, no that isn't right, I NEEDED it. Whether she is writing new Adult, contemporary, or even a tad dark, she takes it to another level where I find myself wanting to turn the pages as fast as I can while in the next breath cursing how close to the end I am getting because I never want her stories to conclude. This has never been closer to the truth than this book.

I wasn't prepared for the world-building. It was, for lack of another way of describing it, out of this world. Even in the realm of paranormal, this book went well above that and doesn't even really fit there nor does it even belong there. It is magical, spellbinding, brutal, and awe-inspiring. To know that this is her first foray into "PNR" I am gobsmacked. However, I also am not, because when this woman sits down to write, regardless of the genre, she always manages to create something that is stunning and sublime. She is a master wordsmith and the way that she creates a story that invokes a maelstrom of emotions is a true gift.

The characters were stunning. Not only who they were through their actions and characterizations but in regards to furthering the story. There are some that might wonder where this story is going considering that there are two males in lead roles. However, despite the back and forth for a while there between all the characters it never truly felt like I was forced to choose one way or another. I am glad about this because I have always struggled with a love triangle because usually I can never decide and end up wanting the heroine to just become polyamorous, and then all will be right in the world. This is fiction. The struggle is real. The author did an amazing job leaving it up to the reader to decide for themselves what this really was. She also left it at a very good point to continue. I have to say THAT makes me VERY happy because it leaves me hope that this amazing world will be continued in the future. I am glad for that because I would have hated it to only be in this book and never touched again. Add in the steam that came close to melting my iPad and this book was proof that heaven truly does exist.

I have a favorite word, one that means the world to me because one of my favorite people that is no longer with me taught it to me when I was very young, mellifluous. It means pleasant to hear, sweet or musical and for me, it doesn't just apply to music, instead, it also applies to words or things that touch my soul. This author is the truest form of that word for me and this book? Yeah, this book is mellifluously sublime. I cannot recommend it enough. This is my favorite from this author and of 2020.
