I received the audiobook/file as part of LT Early Reviewers.
This was a good read. I found the "ending" to be a bit of a rush to close up the story line, and felt the plot was not developed to it's fullest potential but nonetheless it was a good, quick "read".
Our main character fell in love with her neighbor when teenagers but he ghosted her. Unbeknownst to her his college friend was the one that answered her letters and fell in love with her. Fast forward several yrs later the neighbor is back home to get married to (most def the wrong girl). MC meets the college friend and they form a tentative friendship/romance until she finds out that he was the one that answered her letters.

The neighbor - although described as rugged and handsome comes off as a whiny loser and the MC is wishywashy at best. Could definetly be improved upon and characters developed better.… (más)

This review covers the audiobook only!

Hard DNF on my part. I cannot stand this godawful narrator. Her bland, lifeless, dull, listless narration makes me want to off myself. I already suffered through the narration of book 1, which I received as a complimentary copy to accompany this one. After a single chapter of this dreadfully dull audio narration, I can’t stand another 9.

For reference, I found book 1 to be alright, but nothing to “write home about”, to use the old expression. If you’re going to read this, pick a format other than audio.

My Assessment:

'Starting Again' was a sweet holiday romance in Henderson County but ended in Germany. The story features how Gage and Dawn finally came together in love through letters. Letting go of a childhood love will be hard for Dawn, but when the heart finally lets one see who was there that really loved her, will she be able to accept it? To read how this all turns out for Dawn and Gage after a secret comes out, the reader will have to pick up this Christmas Holiday read to see how well this author brings it all to light.… (más)

My Assessment:

'Starting Over' was a sweet love story featuring Cara Wallace and Nathan Reynolds, who had been school sweethearts until it was time to leave for college. After some ten years, Nathan returns with a girlfriend and finds Cara had gone to college and was keeping her niece. As time passes, Cara ends up working for Nathan, and little by little, Nathan learns why Cara didn't let him know why she hadn't gone to college back then. Finally, will these two be able to get back together after Nathan has discovered a secret? At this point, the reader must pick up 'Starting Over' and see how well this author brings out how and why Cara did the things she had to do for her family.… (más)
