NCLA Review -At the age of 35, Deanna was suddenly in the spotlight when she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She writes about the struggles of her life, not only during the early years as a single mother but also during the years before and after her marriage to her superstar husband. Deanne openly talks about the tough-love ultimatum of divorce, or go into rehab, that she gave her husband when he became addicted to pain killers and alcohol. Her deep faith helped her cope with the deaths of family members, her difficulties in having another child, and her own devastating diagnosis of breast cancer. Part of the proceeds from her book support the HOPE Foundation which provides financial support to women in Wisconsin and Mississippi who don't have medical insurance or enough coverage.
