Jay Farrar

Vignettes from a musician's life. Farrar proves a masterful writer, but a man of as few words as he is on stage. Most of the vignettes are about his father or his childhood, with another large part being observations from everyday life (that of a musician, anyway). He skirts around Uncle Tupelo - but in fairness, while certainly seminal in many ways, UT forms only a short period in Farrar's long musical career. This was a good read, and not just a must-have for fans of Farrar's music, but also enjoyable as snapshots from a life spent pondering and enjoying the universe in general and (country) music in particular.… (más)
