This is a tough book for me. It was somewhere between a 3 1/2 and 4 star. I am sure if I was still a teenager I would have loved this book but as an adult it had some problems. Some of the character interaction was very predictable and clichéd. Frankly if I never read another teen book with a love triangle my life will have lost nothing. This story line has played out. Authors need to move on from it.

On the really big plus side is the world. I loved it and most of the characters in it. It was a clever use of a virus and creating division. I will read the second book because I did love the world and liked the characters. I would have liked them more if there had been no love triangle. The sequel to Dark Life (which is absolutely amazing and you should totally read it) is just as good as the first one! We resume adventures with Ty and Gemma in the futuristic dystopian world on another adventure. Action packed and full of such great story telling! There's underwater pirates known as the Seablite Gang and wouldn't you know...they aren't all bad? Twists, turns and new sea monsters as well as a whole township sunk to the bottom?!

100,000/10 recommend you read you some Kat Falls adventures...… (más)

Futuristic dystopian world where some people live and work underwater. Our hero is a teenage boy who helps out on his family's kelp and fish farm underwater, but has an adventurous streak. He discovers something when he's out exploring that shouldn't be where it is and that's just the start of an epic adventure full of mystery and intrigue!

I listened to this audiobook which was randomly recommended by my library and I was HOOKED! Seriously I got so into the story that I would sit for ages in the car after I parked, just to listen. Ever since reading this at the beginning of the summer, I have recommended it to any person who asks me for book recs. This might be tagged as YA, but when you can write a story that is captivating for all ages, then, my friend, it is a book everyone should read!… (más)

I liked this- but not as much as the first. Really would say 3.5 stars if I had that option.
