This book is an excellent source of reading pleasure. It talks about family, support and other virtues, found in the market place. The readership obtains from a wide spectrum of elementary background. Great piece of art.

The boy who cried wolf is a classic book that teaches children many lessons. The boy is asked by a family member to watch over his flock of sheep. As the days go by, the boy begins to get bored. He soon shouts that a wolf is coming to kill his sheep. Everyone in the town stops what they are doing and comes to help. When they get to the top of the hill, they find the boy laughing. They are furious. The boy soon does this again. The third time he cries wolf, a wolf is actually there, but the town's people don't come because they believe he is joking. So of the sheep get killed and the others run off. The boy began to get upset when the town's people because they didn't come. They explained that a boy lying will never be trusted.

The children sat quietly while I read this. As the story went on, I asked them each time the boy lied if that was nice or mean. They soon caught on.

I would use this book also while teaching about farm animals. I would go over with the children the wrongs about lying. I would also have the students draw a picture of what the boy should have done.
