From Babylon to Bethlehem por H. L. Ellison
A short book on the Jews in Israel between the time of the exile and the fall of Jerusalem. Written in an accessible manner.
Concise commentary on Romans 9-11 taking the position that the Church does not replace Israel as some contend; rather, Israel today still maintains a special relationship with God as a nation. As a nation in covenant with God, Israel is still elect. Furthermore, Ellison asserts that this section of Romans argues against the Calvinistic notion of unconditional election saying "it is Israel's place as the People of God that is concerning Paul throughout, not this or that man's ultimate salvation" (p.85). Ellison provides us with a succinct exegetical examination that focuses on the subject leaving all other irrelevant considerations (that only confuse the issue) aside.… (más)
