Biografía breve
A father of three, Frank raised his family in an eastern Ontario village and, later, in Kingston. His first juvenile novel, Frogger, a nominee for Ontario’s Silver Birch Award, is based on his experiences living in small rural
communities. Now that his children are grown up (a health care worker, an actor and a university student), Frank has moved to a cozy house beside a wilderness park near Westport, Ontario where he can focus on his writing.

This book is a cute, and fun picture book for kids to read. Mortimer makes his father lunch, while his dad is rushing to get ready for lunch.

Nightgown Countdown was a small picture book about 10 farm animals who are getting ready to go to bed. The book goes through each farm animal one by one who fall out of the dancing line. After each animal goes to bed or gets tired the book counts down all the way to 1 rooster who stays up in order to wake everyone back up in the morning!

My personal response to this book was that is was a great book to help young children learn how to count and count down. Also, the pictures and illustrations were wonderful. I even enjoyed looking at all the farm animals a what they were doing in each picture.

A class room activity I could do after reading this book would be having the children make up there own things to count down from 10 to 1. Also, you could use this book to talk about all the different kinds of farm animals and ask the children which animal is which.
