This is a great introduction to Queen Elizabeth I, full of actual historical facts and fun asides about the life of England's greatest queen. A perfect entry point into history for young folks, and also a good starter for those adults unfamiliar with history and her story.

She was the daughter of king Henry VIII. She was also friends with Shakespeare. Normally the price is to become ruler of England, but Elizabeth was born first. Plus the prince didn’t live long. What got in Elizabeth’s way was Mary I. When Mary was gone that’s when Elizabeth came in. The queen didn’t have any children. So they brought Irish royalty to England to take her place. Which reminds me that she was ruler of Ireland too. She and the English army defeated the Spanish Armada. She ruled for 45 years. Also she didn’t get married.… (más)
