Not really a travel book, but a social anthropology study -- the basis of the haunting film "Ramparts of Clay", which used the actual village people to act in this plotted "documentary" - the storyline of the documentary follows the real story of an orphaned young woman in the anthropological study. If you can't find the book, then see the very beautiful film; and if you do find the book, still see the film which is available through Amazon.com.
