This is a frivolous "guide" to parenting. This book would be infinitely funnier to a parent who has raised a child and ever wanted to just throw up their hands and run away.
It comes with crappy pictures and a whole lot of stories about crap.
There was some funny, funny stuff in here. I didn't ever read the blog so it was all new to me. It can be very comforting that some of the hard things about parenting are universal. The chapter on traveling with the kids is not to be missed.
I flipped through this at the library, but didn't actually read this from cover-to-cover. From what I saw, I think it's trying too hard to be Hyperbole and a Half. The humor falls flat and the illustrations don't have the magic balance of sarcasm and crappiness.
A clever and authentic look at the humorous and not infrequently aggravating experience of being married or in a long-term relationship. I was charmed by how many parallels I could draw to my own marriage, and wowed by the number of scenarios that were uncannily PRECISELY my own relationship. Short, sweet and a fun diversion.
