My Thoughts

'The Doctor's Bride' was an exciting read of how Deborah and Timothy finally got together after it seemed like her twin sister had something to do with that. Now, to get the whole story of what had happened, once Deborah and Timothy had been friends, it seemed like something had come between them. To find out what that was all about, you must read the novella to see what can happen when the enemy comes in. All that is left to say is when something is for you, our God will give it all to you and more, as what happened to Deborah.… (más)

"The Baker's Bride" by Cecelia Dowdy

My Thoughts:

'The Baker's Bride' was an excellent novella with a little mystery, history, romance, and scripture during this time of the underground railroad. After all that was said and done, will this story bring together a mother, son, and someone else—the newly hired baker's helper? The mom seemed to have someone else in line for her son to marry, but was that to be now that he had met Ruth? This helper had been placed at this spot at the right time and knew how to bake bread. The secondary characters were interesting in how some helped develop the story to keep the reader turning the pages in this short story.

By the time we got to the end, we were given a heartwarming story of how this underground railroad story ended.… (más)

"Rocky Road Dreams" by Cecelia Dowdy

My Assessment:

"Rock Road Dreams" was another of this author's good reads. The read goes right along with the rest of the series. The story was very inspiring that will keep one turning the pages to see what was coming next for Kyle and Melanie. It felt for Kyle as he was trying to work with his struggle with alcoholism as Melanie was working with her weight and job problems and her family conflicts with her uncle and cousin. While the story continues with Kyle having had feelings for Melanie, would she be able to comply with his feelings for him after she finds out more about his struggles? It was so good to see Kyle now having a relationship with his twin brother as he tries to work his problem. And whrat all comes out after Kyle goes through his mother's things? Will Kyle and his brother Kevin get the answers they wanted about their mother? Yes, we all have 'faults and weaknesses,' but what will happen when it all comes out? Will Melanie and Kyle finally get their HEA?
To get the inside of this beautiful story, one will have to pick up this good read and see how well this author brings it all out. So be ready for a good read in the midwest blizzard, which will have decisions that will be made along with eating some sweet chocolate candy.

In the story...there was a mention of Kyle making 'Rocky Road Dreams,' which was candy...and I bet it was as good as it sounded!… (más)

Sugar and Spice (Bakery Romance #4) by Cecelia Dowdy
Starts with Mason and he's opening a new store where he can express his food creations.
Sheila crashes into him and she thinks he's Rafe-who's actually his twin brother. He often is mistaken for Rafe.
Sheila needs a job and she knows bakeries but she hurried out of the store before the interview.
She also has severe money problems and her dad is out of jail and wants to meet with her if she can fly there to spend a few days together for the Christmas holiday season.
She prays for a miracle and she gets the job. He was enthralled with her and prays she will return and he will help her out any way he can.
Love hearing about the tip jar - I always look for one even in hotel breakfast room, they are so appreciative.
He has a family gathering that he needs to attend but his medical problem stands in his way often.
Like how he takes matters into his own hands and has some nice chats with Sheila and gives her his opinion on various subjects.
Didn't see the ending happening, so unexpected!
