I'm ridiculously excited about this book. It gives clear, simple answers to a really complex question: how does vision differ among the species?

The word count and word level is really accessible for early elementary readers, and the photos are spectacular.

Each animal is written about separately; roughly 25 word segments. For example, the bird section has 7 paragraphs about 7 types of birds, and the entire 'chapter' totals under 200 words.

I can definitely use this book (or pieces thereof) for reading practice with my 1st-3rd grade students. The most struggling students could have a single section or two (25-60 words), and my more advanced students could have an entire animal genre section (175-225 words).… (más)
